There will always be an England

There will always be an England

I guess that like myself most of you felt very bad about Detterling's denigration of Vera Lynn and of those good people who sang We'll Meet Again at the Anzac Memorial service at Harefield on Monday.

My God! To think that my brave father risked his life each day as a pilot on those dangerous North Atlantic missions so that we might be free. And that years later a tosser and bottlejob like Detterling can abuse that freedom by insulting Vera Lynn and mocking those good people who sang We'll Meet Again.

Marianne told me that this singing by the congregation at the Anzac Memorial Day service of We'll Meet Again was very stirring. There was innocence and wholesomeness

Never mind Detterling and his ilk. There will always be an England.

Vera Lynn

"We'll Meet Again"
We'll meet again
We'll meet again,
Don't know where,
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through,
Just like you always do
Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away

So will you please say "Hello"
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won't be long
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this song

We'll meet again,
Don't know where,
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day

We'll meet again,
Don't know where
Don't know when.
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day.
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do,
'Til the blue skies
Drive the dark clouds far away
So will you please say "Hello"
To the folks that I know.
Tell them I won't be long.
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go,
I was singin' this song.

We'll meet again,
Don't know where,
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
