SAINT PAUL SOCKS IT TO THE ARSENOKOITAI...

SAINT PAUL

I often wonder why we in the Christian faith have any disagreements about homosexual acts. St Paul succinctly and forthrightly makes the position clear:

Let’s have a look at 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites (the arsenokoitai), thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.

  1. Interesting: St Paul also said that he who looked on a woman with lust had already committed adultery in his heart.

Which means that Gene is for it - fornication and adultery, not to mention thieves and robbers [Gene has plundered almost the entire content of this blog from the writings of others], and as for a drunkenness - he is usuallty pissed by lunchtime these days.

Yes, it is interesting that Saint Paul did NOT say that.

      Jesus said it.

      Detterling you have lost it.

I shall be consulting Tony of the Big Saloon, Mary Winterbourne and Ducky Duckworth about where we go in the light of this.

    2. Oh Christ, not your blithering sock puppets again. As for Matthew 5 28, what difference does it make? except you are now condemned as a fornicator, an adulterer, a liar and a hypocrite by both Christ and St Paul. Not much squirming room there, I would have thought. And your repeating that I have “lost it” doesn’t make it true, particularly in view of the humiliations you have undergone on recent months at my hands.

Which reminds me. How are Sammy and You got it all dude coming along? And when is “Granny Barkes fell in Woolworths” being published?

  2. Game, set and match to Detterling, again,

By the way, Gene, when is "Granny Barkes pissed her knickers in the Post Office" being published?

  4. I note also that the “searingly honest” (sic) proponent of “free speech” (sic) has removed the post from Revd Candace Chewell’s website “Whatsoever” which blows Gene’s corrupt translation of Corinthians out of the water. What a lying, gutless bastard you are.

Would this lady happen to be an aggressive lesbian? Methinks she is. Hence her translation is null and void.

  6. "Would this lady happen to be an aggressive lesbian? Methinks she is. Hence her translation is null and void."

    Gene, this is utterly demented.

It is not her translation - the article collates scholarly opinion drawn from various translators and is not serving a argumentative purpose - unlike your bigoted propaganda.

And your notion that the sexuality of a person affects their academic prowess is, simply, fucking idiotic.

And you keep saying that I have lost it. Jesus Christ....

And of course you don't realise, do you, you moronic arsehole, that you have hereby admitted censoring and removing my post about the translation.

Yet another humiliation for the hapless Gene.

    1. I have no idea what translation this lady used - but it was no doubt chosen to suit her lesbian perversion.

Maybe this Protestant translation is the one you should use:

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? [a]Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor wantons, nor buggerers,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God.

      Buggerers! Tee! Hee! Hee!

    2. Where does it say that this is a reference to homosexual buggery? - after all, you once wrote a filthy story about buggering my wife. So this refers to a sexual act practised by both homo- and heterosexual couples, and so does not condemn homosexuals. As the commentary on the Geneva Bible on Bible Gateway says: "Now he prepareth himself to pass over to the fourth treatise of this Epistle, which concerneth matters indifferent: debating this matter first, HOW MEN MAY WELL USE WOMEN OR NOT, which question hath three branches, fornication, matrimony, and a single life."

No mention of homosexuality there, Gene.

Once again, Gene gets pelted with shit..

Ha! Ha! Ha! You take the biscuit Detterling!
So homosexual buggery is okay then? Ha! Ha! Ha!

    4. No, I asked you a question - the question of whether or not I approve of buggery is none of my business.

So, tell us: where in this translation does it indicate that the buggery referred to is exclusively homosexual?

No answer to that, is there, because there is no such indication.

      Bang to rights, Gene.

  7. PART TWO:

No new textual data effected the twentieth-century change in translation of this word: only a shift in popular morality. Since few people any longer regard masturbation as the sort of activity which would preclude entrance to heaven, the condemnation has simply been transferred to a group still so widely despised that their exclusion does not trouble translators or theologians. (John Boswell, Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality: Gay People in Western Europe from the Beginning of the Christian Era to the Fourteenth Century, University of Chicago Press, 1980, pages 105-107)
Note: The Greek language contained no word which compares to the English noun “homosexual,” meaning someone of homosexual orientation. In fact the word “homosexual” (meaning someone of homosexual orientation) was not even coined until the late 1800s by German psychologists, and introduced into English only at the beginning of the 1900s. (See Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality, John Boswell, University of Chicago Press, 1980, page 42) However, during scriptural times there were a number of Greek words to describe homosexual sex acts and the However, during scriptural times there were a number of Greek words to describe homosexual sex acts and the two words malakoi and arsenokoitai do not appear among them. (On arsenokoitai see Boswell, pp 345-346.)

  11. And that just about sums you up, Gene: a shallow, tittering simpleton with a juvenile dirty mind. Add to this your revolting pretensions to Christianity (sickeningly belied by your relentless nastiness and canting bigotry) and your ludicrous posturing as an intellectual and writer, and you have a totally despicable human being without, apparently, a single redeeming feature. God will forgive you for your blasphemy of his love and charity in your vicious and malicious attacks on those whose sexuality differs from yours, but i never will. You are filth.

  12. Detterling my comment has been removed but given your support for all things gay why reference to your nephew being gay is a mystery.

Re a change in the teaching of the C of E about homosexual acts - don't be absurd. The Catholic Church welcomes gays, couples singles whatever, but that does not mean that its teaching on homosexual acts being disordered and intrinsically morally evil does not apply.
