NINE YEARS AGO...

DECLARATIO

(Video)

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the barque of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.

Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects.  And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

From the Vatican, 10 February 2013

BENEDICTUS PP XVI

  2. You have had more than enough information about the demise of poor Myrtle Thornberry R.I.P.

You most obviously have a guilty conscience Detters - and so you should.

    1. Nonsense. I simply want to nail this particularly nasty lie for the filth it is.

So, Gene: date, place and verdict of the Myrtle Thornberry inquest, if you please?

  3. A wonderful posting by Pope Benedict XVI.

    Thanks you Mr Vincent.

    1. "Joseph Ratzinger knew of all this too, although he shamefully denied it. A German inquiry found that the man who became Pope Benedict XVI failed to act in four child abuse cases when Archbishop of Munich, enabling the perpetrators to remain active in pastoral care — a sure indication of how high the criminality travelled. And how many dozens, perhaps hundreds, knew of the evils perpetrated at schools for deaf children in Verona and Mendoza, Argentina, children who often literally lacked the voice to cry for help? Could there be a more chilling metaphor for what happened, and still happens?"

  5. The only piece of filth is that of the TES clique Mr Detterling, still happily cancelling today on the Strangr forum, and will carry on doing so until it finally rids of itself.

    1. There never was a TES clique, unless it was the seriously unlovely Rawlinson and Vincent, whose stock in trade was lies, lies and more lies, garnished with sneers, hypocrisy and sheer nastiness.

And I see that you are once more too drunk at breakfast time to write a coherent sentence. Your liver must be like a deflated rugger ball by now.

    2. Indeed Mr Vincent, and I will keep repeating it at will. The Wokery of the clique is a stain on this once great country, upon decency and honesty. Every one of them will be named and shamed.

Keep up the stirling work Mr Vincent!

    3. Pompous, hypocritical, sententious and lying crap, typical extrusions of the unlovely Rawlinson-Vincent Clique.

And while I think of it, Gene: date, place and verdict of the Myrtle Thornberry inquest, if you please?

    4. And too drunk at ten in the morning to spell "sterling" correctly.

    5. Rather that Mr Detterling, than to be be so woke that I chose to abstain. And it is probably better that you don't go down that 'delicate' root of yours, of pointing out others' errors. I have a server-full of your postings that I might well pick over, should you behave like a whelp again. Good evening.

    6. "Delicate root?" God, you've started early. And if your life is really so empty that all you can do to fill in your days is to find spelling mistakes in twenty-year old internet postings, then you are even sadder than I thought.

"Behave like a whelp" - as ever, a brave if inept stab at the aristo pose, your most painfully unfunny mode. Sod off, old bean.

    7. I do believe that our politically correct, dainty boy has been triggered. "Sod off..."

      Oh dear me.
