Sometimes you get the feeling that God is directing a reading from Scripture especially to you...

Galatians 5:16-25
If you are guided by the Spirit you will be in no danger of yielding to self-indulgence, since self-indulgence is the opposite of the Spirit, the Spirit is totally against such a thing, and it is precisely because the two are so opposed that you do not always carry out your good intentions. If you are led by the Spirit, no law can touch you. When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: fornication, gross indecency (sodomy) and sexual irresponsibility; idolatry and sorcery; feuds and wrangling, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels; disagreements, factions, envy; drunkenness, orgies and similar things. I warn you now, as I warned you before: those who behave like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. What the Spirit brings is very different: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control. There can be no law against things like that, of course. You cannot belong to Christ Jesus unless you crucify all self-indulgent passions and desires.
Since the Spirit is our life, let us be directed by the Spirit.

I had that feeling at Mass this Pentecost morning. I felt the Second Reading spoke directly to me. I had the feeling that God was saying: " Carry on as you are Gene. You are on the right track."

  1. In the meantime, let us not forget what it is that Gene wishes us desperately to forget...

"Gene claimed that Christ condemned sodomy."

Then show me the posts in which Gene claimed that Christ condemned sodomy. You can't.

You claimed we did not know what Christ's views on sodomy were because he is not recorded mentioning this in the gospels.

I countered we certainly do know that Christ condemned sodomy along with bestiality and paedophilia although none of these are mentioned in the in the gospels.

And by the way you claimed that I said Jesus condemned sodomy 'in the gospels'. You are lying and changing everything as you go along.

You have been totally defeated and humiliated as usual.

Gene then wrote, also at 1444 PDT May 19th:

Thank you for answering your own question, Gene, in the same breath as you asked it. You have confirmed your claim that Christ condemned sodomy along with bestiality and paedophilia and saved me the trouble of ploughing through acres of your turgid nonsense. You stupid, stupid bugger.

And once again, I challenge you to produce textual evidence - not waffle and bluster about "well he must have done", not ponced up bluff about things being "axiomatic", not piffle about Jewish law, but chapter and verse from the Gospel.

    And once more, you can't.

    Game, set and match.

    1. Again show me the post where I said that Jesus condemned sodomy in the gospels. You can't. You know you can't, hence the bare-faced lying.

Are you totally obtuse? There is no textual evidence from the Gospels - and this was the basis of your original claim that we do not know the view of Jesus on sodomy. You have said there is no textual evidence and then you ask me to produce it!!!!!
