Roberto Mancini, manager of the British soccer club Manchester City, has arrived in Medjugorje today for a three-day pilgrimage, staying at the Grace Hotel, just 100 yards from St James’ Church.
After arriving by private plane in Mostar this morning and then completing the 25 mile road trip to Medjugorje, Mancini headed straightaway to the Hill of Apparitions saying, “I have come as a pilgrim.”
Mancini’s team is neck and neck with rivals Manchester United in the English Premiership as the season enters its final group of games.

The 47-year-old Italian has managed a number of top soccer clubs as well as the Italian national team for ten years.
Mancini is in his second season with Manchester City, now reputed to be the richest soccer club in Europe after being purchased in 2008 by the Abu Dhabi United Group.
• Tonight, rivals Manchester United beat Fulham 1-0 to move three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premiership table. Both teams have played 30 games but City has a slightly better goal difference.
