In Medjugorje, Refugees from Ukraine are offered Apartments and full Care

In Medjugorje, a famous Herzegovinian place for prayers and pilgrimages, hoteliers and tourist workers joined a large humanitarian action to help refugees from Ukraine and offer them accommodation and full care in their apartments and private facilities.

President of the Association of Tourism, Hospitality, and Room Rental in Medjugorje Davor Ljubic said that the initiative for the reception of refugees from Ukraine was initiated by a resident of Medjugorje who immediately received full support for the realization of this noble story.

Consequently, they have already taken care of two families from Ukraine who were staying as pilgrims in Medjugorje during the Russian aggression on their country.

We contacted the Light of Mary Association and said that we are making ourselves available with what we can do and what we have. We have offered not only accommodation but full help because we should not forget that people fleeing war flee without anything and should be provided with accommodation, food, and everything else that is necessary for normal living conditions, Ljubic told.

He stressed that in this way they want to show that it is not only their job to accept pilgrims but also to help people when they are in trouble.

In addition to the readiness to help in Medjugorje, they hope that the situation in Ukraine will stabilize as soon as possible and that their citizens will not have to live as refugees in some other countries, which citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) who survived similar fates understand best.

About 30 priests from Ukraine are currently staying in Medjugorje, and a group of pilgrims who stayed in an organized manner during the aggression on their land in that place, returned to their homeland on Sunday, after which numerous prayers were sent for peace in Ukraine and all around the world.
