 OVERHEARD IN HARRIS & HOOLE...

(An occasional feature)

15th November

There is no Mass in Uxbridge on Thursdays so those of us who usually attend Mass daily meet up at what would be Mass time at Harris & Hoole. That wonderful freshly-roasted coffee aroma fills the cafe. Quite a few of us were there yesterday. The sole topic of conversation was of course the resignation of Justin Welby.

Nearly all were very sympathetic, and while accepting that in the circumstances he had no choice but to resign, most of us felt that everything had most likely come about by Justin Welby relying on bad advice from those around him.

I pointed out that Welby is at heart a decent man but has been held to ransom by the LGBTQ pinko liberal clique that heads the C of E.

The talk then went to who might succeed as the new Archbishop of Canterbury. Cottrell's name came up but I responded that I would not give Cottrell a job as a cleaner in the lowest pissoir in Uxbridge.

Sugarboy Nando asked if there was any news about the publication of Detterling's memoirs and this was greeted by loud laughter from all.

Yes indeed Gene. And the ransom price? To support gay couple blessings in church, gay marriages in C of E churches and accept same sex marriage of gay C of E clergy.
