COME ON DETTERLING. GET OFF THE FENCE...

Tomorrow in the House of Commons the most significant debate on a proposed bill in any of our lifetimes will take place. Come on Detterling. Get off the fence. Oppose this bill. You don't want a repetition of history to happen. Remember your deafening silence on the Paedophile Information Exchange? Remember the C of E deafening silence on the P.I.E.? Compare that with my taking part in a protest against a speaker from the P.I.E. being invited to Oxford University in 1978. A protest organised by the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy.

The Catholic Church has been campaigning strongly and  incessantly against this proposed bill. Please remind me what the Church of England stance is? Oops! Sorry. I forgot. The Church of England is f**ked.

  2. My member of Parliament, Sir Alan Campbell, MA, PC, has declared his intention to vote for Ms Leadbetter's bill. I support his decision wholeheartedly and, at a recent meeting over a drink with him, made it clear that I think that this change in the law - which over 85% of the populace, and over 80% of Christian believers support - will be a positive development.

The rest of your post above makes no sense whatsoever. You participated forty-six years ago in a meaningless student protest, and have done nothing since. So what? Likewise, I see no point in engaging with someone with such a limited - possibly even non-existent - capacity for introspection, as the following example shows.

Some months ago, you accused me of supporting the Paedophile Information Exchange. The only evidence you could adduce for this atrocious accusation was that - so far as you knew, which was no distance at all - I had never made a spoken or written condemnation of the Paedophile Information Exchange and its heinous activities and values. In your vapid logic, then, lack of evidence of condemnation for an activity or moral stance equalled support for that activity of moral stance. More or less simultaneously with this assertion, you claimed that, although Jesus Christ had never uttered a word of condemnation either of homosexuality or homosexual practices in love-making in the Gospels, it was "axiomatic" that He condemned both as a sin.

Thus, silence on an issue - in your mind - means both implicit support for it and implicit condemnation of it. Anyone so stupid as to maintain such a self-evidently ridiculous position is not worth the effort of response.

Your world view boils down to "if I don't want to, then no-one else must be allowed to", a stance both untenable and childish. There is no point in trying to argue with someone who knows that he is right, no matter how often he is proved wrong, which is why I stopped engaging with this blog six months ago.

I have much better things to do than waste time on pointless arguments with you. Whilst I still have time and capacity, I would rather cherish my wonderful wife, my miraculous children and the grand-daughters whose smiles and appreciation I treasure.

My wife - with whom you claimed to have fathered my son; my son, whose gentle, kind and charitable tolerance you defiled with the grotesque and illiterate filth you wrote as "Swashbuckling Mulligan"; and the grand-daughters whom I wouldn't let within a mile of you for fear of your groping them - especially the eleven year old - for your own perverted satisfaction. Everything I love and value you have set out to belittle, dirty and defile, and for that, if I believed in hell, I would hope that you would fry in hell, balls and all.

  3. 'Some months ago, you accused me of supporting the Paedophile Information Exchange.'

No I did not. I accused you of not protesting its existence.

  4. Oh!, and the Church of England stance on assisted suicide? Can't seem to find a statement on this anywhere. Oops! Sorry. I forgot. The C of E is f**ked.

    1. "Methinks", for fuck's sake. What are you, some kind of tinpot Shakespeare? Anybody who uses the word "methinks" is a pretentious wanker, no question.
