I have a lot of mail today about the leaked 1st Draft of the Supreme Court Of The United States’ majority “Opinion of the Court signed by Justice Alito. It is a fine demolition of Roe v. Wade, an exposition of the obvious.
I have been feeling very down this last week or so and this is the tonic I needed. No more: 'A woman's right to choose.'
The first time I encountered that appalling slogan was back in Oxford in 1978. A pro-abortion protest march was displaying it on a huge banner. I shouted:
"Wrong, wrong, wrong. No one has the right to such a choice."
A strident harridan at the front of the march came over and started to verbally abuse me. I flung a carton of strawberry-flavoured yogurt in her face. It caught the bitch right between the eyes. A proper melee ensued. I made my getaway before the boys in blue arrived.
