A figure in the high Vatican circles who has been particularly controversial in recent times is Archbishop Vicenzo Paglia.
As Bishop of Terni he has had installed in the apse of the cathedral a homoerotic fresco in which he is identifiable wearing a zucchetto.
Even the Church of England would balk at this!
