Well, lets see what Oxford University has to say about that. I foresee history repeating itself with Detterling withdrawing his claim, issuing a groveling apology and, quaking in his boots fearing legal action, running for cover.

Actually, Gene, it was you who claimed that you had cheated, stolen, plagiarised and copied your way through university, on the grounds that everybody else did. And St John's College will reject any association with someone nasty enough to do that, and thick enough to brag about it - not the kind of alumnus they care to acknowledge.

You won't, of course, as any such action on your part will involve them in confirming to me, for certain, your full identity. ReplyDeleteNOT SO! Whereas I was only moderately successful academically in my time at St John's, I was nevertheless not someone the college would be ashamed of. In the Philosophy component of my PPE I was complimented on a paper I presented on Hegel. I drew analogies with what I called Hegel's 'eschatology' and the Point Omega concept in the writings of Teilhard de Chardin.
Balls. There are no analogies to be drawn between Hegel's eschatology and the Point Omega Concept. Hegel envisioned a final end from which nothing new could emerge; de Chardin's fanciful equivilation of Point Omega with Christ's identifying himself as the Alpha and Omega is, like the majority of his writings, elegantly expressed and hence seductive bullshit. As a sucker for bullshit no wonder you fell for it.
