During a press conference this afternoon, Mancini spoke warmly about his previous visit to Medjugorje and remembered with affection his meetings with the visionaries, praying the Way of the Cross on Mt Krizevac, Holy Mass – which he described as “special in Medjugorje”, and also the peace that could be found in prayer. He also spoke about the current Euro 2012 football championship and made mention of rival Manchester United’s bid for the Croatian player Luka Modric.
This evening, around the time of Our Lady’s apparition, Mancini and others spent time in prayer at the Blue Cross. Earlier they had visited a local orphanage.
